Welcome Back!

Amy and I hope that each of you enjoyed your Christmas break!

The kids all did an amazing job during the Christmas program.  I have added some picture of our good looking kids at the end of this blog.

We are excited to announce that we will have 22 students in our class beginning Monday.  We are happy to welcome our new classmate, Millie Elliott.  I am sure that she will feel as welcome as you have made me feel!

Since the temperatures are plummeting please make sure your child has winter clothing in their bags.  Even though we are not going outside to play, we do not want to bring your child out to you in shorts or t-shirts when it is 0 degrees outside.

It is very important for all children to be on-time for school.  If not, we have a hard time getting everything accomplished.  This is also a step toward getting ready for kindergarten.  Ideally, all students would be at school at 8:30. At 8:45 they are considered late.

We will be adding a revised 2nd semester calendar to your child's binder this next week. There have been some changes due to snow days before Christmas.  This may change again if we have any additional snow days. However, we will not be adding days to the end of the year as EVSC may.

We are ready and excited to get the second half of the year going.  It is hard to believe in a few short months we will be sending these kids off to kindergarten.  That being said we will also be upping our expectations of our children.  The hallway and bathrooms will be renamed "QUIET ZONE". They will lose their stickers for being silly and/or noisy in these areas. They are aware of this change.  We talked about it before break.  We are also going to be focusing a lot more on waiting their turn, raising their hands, and being self-sufficient. These are all behaviors that will be expected in kindergarten.  Also, please start dropping the kids at the doorway outside of the hook area.  Amy or I will try to be standing there if you need to talk with us.  This is just one step towards making them more self-sufficient.

You will be receiving pre-registration forms for next year's enrollment.  If you are not going to use it please feel free to pass it onto a friend, neighbor, or relative who would want it.

You can always find information at homeforyourheartschool.blogspot.com or on the home for your heart school facebook page.  This facebook page is be invite only.  If you need to be added please message Amy Bonenberger or myself (Becky Arney).

The first MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) group will meet this Wednesday morning. Please visit the facebook page MOPS of Bluegrass UMC.

Enjoy looking at the pictures.  Hope to see everyone Monday assuming we don't get 8 inches of snow!
