Chapel: We are discussing the Plagues that God put upon Egypt because the king would not let the Israelites go.  This week we talked about the plague of blood.  The kids are excited to see if the king "pharaoh" will let the Israelites go or what God will send next.

TUITION IS DUE THIS WEEK!

Thursday we will have an open house in our building for anyone wanting to come and check out our school for next year.  If you talk to anyone who is possibly interested please have them come check us out.  Thursday February 4th 8:30 am-2:45 pm.  No need to make an appointment for this day.

We are filling very fast for next year!

If you child is going to be late or be absent please let me know via our class facebook page, HFYH facebook page, instant message me on facebook (I get these immediately), email me, or text me (again I get these immediately.)

The kids are doing a great job with morning drop off and are loving that they get to come up to the room by themselves and get themselves ready for the day!  It is so cute to watch them become so independent!

We do have 3 upcoming fieldtrips.  The one in February will be to CMoe and in March we will be making up our fieldtrip to the library.  Also, the preK classes have been invited to ECS to watch their spring musical (The Little Mermaid).  Parents are welcome and encouraged to join us for the fieldtrip to CMoe.  The library does not require any parents and the ECS fieldtrip we will not be able to take anyone extra as they only send us just enough tickets.

SNOW MAKE UP DAYS!

We will be in school in Monday, February 15th and Monday, April 18th to make up the days we have missed due to snow days.

Star Student: Brooklyn

Letter: Ll- I will send Ll bags home on Monday.

Color: red

Sight word: let

Chapel message: Moses and the Burning Bush

Bible Verse: Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Proverbs 3:5

On Thursday we did an Egg drop experiment.  The kids choice from batting, toilet paper, paper towels, construction paper, tissue paper, marshmallows,  noodles, bubble wrap, and beans. We placed a raw egg in a baggie with the object they chose.  They point was to protect the egg when it was dropped onto the floor.  The first round the kids dropped their eggs from shoulder height.  One egg broke. The second round I dropped the eggs from my shoulder height.  Only three eggs remained after this round.  The third round the kids with remaining eggs dropped them down the stair well.  At the end of the third round only Lochlyn's egg remained.  His egg was the only egg out of three classrooms that survived the drop down the stair well in a baggie.  He chose to surround his egg with marshmallows!

If you have not sent in January tuition please send it in on Monday!

If you have not sent back your child's report card please send it back in.

We are running low on coffee filters if anyone would like to donate some to the class.  We use these to hold our snacks.

If you are thinking about having your child repeat Pre-K next year please come and talk with me or let me know.  Open registration will open the beginning of February and we will fill up very quickly.  I know there are already 4-5 outside families coming in next week for tours of the buildings and classrooms.  Usually we are completely filled by spring break in Pre-K.

Upcoming Dates to Remember:

Monday, January 18: No school- MLK day

Wednesday, January 20: Fieldtrip to Oaklyn Branch Library.  The kids will listen to a story, complete a craft, and get a tour of the library.  $2 will be added to your February tuition bill.
