Week of February 24-28, 2014

STAR STUDENT: Adlee
LETTER OF THE WEEK: Bb
NUMBER OF THE WEKK: 16
SIGHT WORD OF THE WEEK: Big
COLOR OF THE WEEK: Brown

In class we have been working on two things:
1.  Saying (not singing) the ABC's- We do this by getting in a circle and going around with each child giving the next letter in the series.  You can do this at home by going back and forth with the child telling what letter comes next. For Example: You say A, Child says B, You would say C, etc.

2.  Writing our names correctly.  This means only capitalizing the first letter with all the rest lower case.  This also means writing it in a left to right fashion on a line.  We are trying to help those that are still making letters backward too.

NEWS FOR THE WEEK:

We will be making up our fieldtrip this Thursday.  Parents and welcome and encouraged to attend.  Admission for anyone coming will be $5.50.  You will pay this at the door when you arrive at CMOE.  Just let them know that you are with the HFYH fieldtrip.  The children are welcome to ride the bus with us from school and then back to school.  The bus will be leaving by 8:30 am. We are asking the kids to be there by 8:15.  The bus will NOT wait on anyone. If you miss the bus you will need to meet us at CMOE. If you plan on driving your child to the fieldtrip please let Amy or I know so that we do not worry about them missing the bus.  We will be returning to school in time for morning dismissal.  Full-day kids are welcome to stay the whole day.

Friday is a snow make-up day.  There WILL be school on FRIDAY!  This day will run as any other with early arrival, half and full day classes.

CLASSROOM NEEDS:

We are in need of prizes for our treasure box.  This can be things like McDonald's toys, pencils, stickers, any kind of trinket.

We are also running low on shaving cream.  Does not need to be anything fancy. If you find some cheap please pick it up.

Thanks for all your support of us and our classroom.  We really appreciate it!

Mrs. Becky
